Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? . . . No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~Romans 8:35, 38-39

Trip to Savannah

Last weekend we took a trip to Savannah to see family. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see some of our friends who were out of town.

We had a shrimp boil on the dock at Popie and Khunyai's house. Here is Josiah with a squid that was in with the shrimp (they had been caught the day before).
Josiah loved getting to play with the shrimp.

Getting everyone to sit still, look at the camera, and smile is quite a challenge. The dress Carissa has on is one that my friend, Meredith, and I made.

Bath Time

Here are some bath pics of Carissa from today.

I had taken the rubber bands out of her hair, but it still stays the same.

All shampooed up.For those who want to know how long her hair is when it is wet. This is after I have run through her hair with the pick (can't use a comb or brush). All finished!

Josiah is 5!

This year we combined Josiah's 5th bday party with Caleb's 1/2 bday. We did not have a party for Caleb in December because Christmas time is always so busy. So, we decided to let Caleb join in the party in June and get some presents. It's hard to be little and get ALL your presents in December and NONE the rest of the year. So, we had a Batman (Josiah) and Spiderman (Caleb) party.
We were able to get the cakes from Whole Foods so Josiah could actually eat his bday cake and not worry about artificial dyes.
Josiah woke up Carissa at 6:30am to play with her. Needless to say, she was a bit cranky at the party.
Thanks to our friend, Mer, for taking so many great pictures.

Josiah's quote of the week

"Mama and Daddy, why do we never see lost torpedos at the beach?"

Chris' response, "Have you ever looked for them at the beach?"

The fountain park

This week we went to the fountain park downtown. Caleb's friend, Sam, came with us. The boys love running around in the water.
Carissa had no fear of the water and didn't mind the water spraying in her face.
A better pic of how Carissa crawls.
Carissa does several yoga moves. I finally got a pic of one. Here is down dog.

Crawling

Carissa has a very unique way of crawling. She doesn't crawl on her knees. She crawls on her feet. I think she started this because her knees kept getting caught on her dresses. But now she crawls like this even when she doesn't have a dress on.

Tornado in a jar

Josiah found a recipe for a tornado in a jar in one of the three tornado books he got at the library yesterday. Lately he's been asking me what happens when a tornado hits a car, what happens when it lands on our roof, can he fight it with a stick, etc.
